Established in 1991, Patrick’s business Snow24 has been collecting and updating data and images from resorts, year-round, for more than 25 years and are THE worldwide experts on ski resort information.

Over the years that database has sat behind numerous print and digital products including guide books, tour operator brochures, websites, CD ROMs and apps from companies including Teletext, Microsoft, AOL and many others.

The database contains data on more than 6,000 ski areas of all sizes in more than 80 countries and on all continents.  The rule for inclusion is that there must be at least one lift.

There are up to 600 facts stored on every ski area – mostly stats and short text facts covering location details, names, the ski area’s snow24altitude range, extent and uplift.  Then there’s information on snow records, resort facilities, accommodation, dining, activities, ski school, nursery – even details like religious institutions and nearby hospitals. A full field list is available on request.

The database also contains short text descriptions of more than 2,000 ski areas and detailed reports of the top 200 or so ski areas worldwide.

There are also contact details for thousands of ski areas and Patrick has an unrivalled global ski resorts contacts list.

The database structure means it’s easy to display the data in multilingual formats by changing the field header language and it’s also easy to sort and rank ski areas by multiple search and priority criteria.

The database can be used in conjunction with Patrick’s other resource assets – environmental information, cartographic information, news and social media feeds, snow reports, images and ticket pricing for example.
